My parents raised us without TV, for which I am eternally grateful. That’s not to say that when I was a kid I didn’t crave television, and occasionally it becomes readily apparent–as it did at my parents’ this Thanksgiving–that my sister’s kids sometimes feel the same way:

ha! this took me a little while to get. that's pretty funny. When M&I have found ourselves staring out the window at trees and fluttering green, we call it watching T.V. (the vegetation). In fact, this summer we watched big screen T.V. in our pioneer cabin (through the full-height screened porch).

Our previous neighbors constantly watched our every move thru their upstairs window… After a few months of them staring at us eating dinner every night… we started closing the curtains… It was so bad that we couldn't step one foot in our backyard without them running out to start a conversation. So we built a fence. I'm guessing they didn't own a T.V.
I don't think kids need t.v…. but older people… YES…
